KAVALÉ

Kavalé is a website created by Simon listing his favourite hiking routes on the island of Réunion and in mainland France. He asked me to design a logo and an illustration, as well as giving him advice on the font and colours.

I depicted a mountain with a clear relief and solid colour for greater visual impression and a grounded feeling. But the lines are irregular, the font round and the colours warm, evoking conviviality and a shared and accessible approach to hiking.  The logo conveys the seriousness of his approach as well as the accuracy of the data used, while at the same time having a warm and inviting feel to it.

For the illustration, we decided to depict the ridge line of the Barre des Ecrins, a mountain range dear to both our hearts, in a simplified yet faithful way.
